This project is called ‘Div. Bel. Broodjes’. It’s a tribute to the old snackbars that seem to be disappearing from our streetcorners. Overtaken by big firms or losing their right to exist because of the ever-expanding conscious food movement. Which in and of itself maybe isn’t so bad, but we hope you can appreciate the light boxes with homemade photography, stickers that have been faded due to sunlight and of course the great names of the snackbars (my favorite is ‘Desiree’, isn’t she lovely?). They definitely got their romance too right?
One of the challenges of this project was to make the pictures not to look to perfect. The pictures can be a tad dirty at times. Which was our aim.

Snackbar Désiree (Amsterdam)
Here an example of our inspiration from local Snackbar Désiree. We love the details, the classic handwriting font combined with the different shape of letters in the price. Did you noticed the '8' is upside down? Love it!

Small Info Sheet
In musea you find a small info sheet next to the art. It gives you information like who made it, in what year, the size etc. etc. In our project we placed this info sheet in the final image. This is our way to tell the people it's art what they experience in the on snackbars.
